Murder victims, war heroes, and loved ones can now return after death. The world is forever changed by LifeXtra, a drug known commonly as "LX" which allows the deceased to be resurrected for2 hours of pain free existence. Teams are dispatched to investigate whether or not the drug is being used legally. Recipients must have died of terminal illnesses, by homicide or by war wounds. People who die of natural causes are not yet legalized as recipients of LX, though it does happen by sale on the black market.

A new drug allows the resurrection of recently deceased people for up to three days. Terminal patients, war heroes, murder victims: they all get to use the drug after their harrowing ends. But the rest of the population dies of natural causes and untimely accidents and wants their second chances too. So a seedy underbelly develops to distribute off-brand serums to the black market -- often with undesirable side effects.

Teams of investigators dispatch all over the world to dig into cases involving the drug. They determine the legality of its use and make appropriate judgements. Cases range from criminals and conspiracies to tough family decisions and secrets.

Stories arise the world over as fallen soldiers return home, a serial killer abuses the drug for his own sick fantasies, families fight to see their loved ones again, corporations vie for control over the serum, and the question is asked:

How will you spend your last weekend? /
